This could've been the perfect time for a "Get Spooped" compilation album release akin to The Mystery Collection to cap off the spooky month, but the problem with that is that the amount of songs interpolating "Mysteriously Mysterious Mysterious" outweighs the amount interpolating "Get Spooped" by a large-ass margin. Going off memory alone and only going off of ones based mainly on Get Spooped, there's maybe two, I think. Track 1: Get Spooped. Track 2: Spooky Levels Rising, a remix of it I made for a school project in Grade 9 that I did an embarrassing rap over it. I still have it memorized even though that was, like, eight years ago.
Nevertheless, if you're one of the handful of Get Spooped fans, yes, @MatPatGT, you should totally listen to our final track.
Fun Fact: I released this at 6 AM (in Utah). I'm glad the timezone was so different because there was no way I was posting this at 06:00 EST. I guess today being Saturday means this would be 6 AM on Night 6 which, like, if you really did just spend the last six hours fighting for your life working a pizza place thinking the restaurant's mascot was gonna get you, you'd be pretty pissed to check your notifications and see on YouTube: "Song About Papa John's". It would be a nightmare. Unless you're that one guy, Doughtoli.
Anyway, so the story behind this one was that during a music stream my friend Michelle was doing, I challenged myself to make an entire song during the stream. The lyric-writing session was akin to "straight ahead" animation wherein I just started with writing the first line (clearly inspired by xenontf's FNAF videos on TikTok) and made up the next line based off of that one over and over again until I got to the end of the instrumental I'd made and panic-improvised an ending to the song.
When I realized I wanted to release some music on Halloween (mostly excess from The Mystery Collection that I felt didn't fit that album), I realized I could also take the opportunity to buff out my Genius page with... this bullshit. I actually wanted to re-record the lyrics for this one for this release since I feel like I'm singing faster than the instrumental most of the time. I tried to re-record it and it sounded worse. I also tried retiming it and that sounded worse. So, I just said "fuck it", and decided to go with the original one that debuted September 6th.
This would've been sandwiched in between "Everything is Mysterious" and "Drawn into Mystery" on The Mystery Collection. If I had to guess (because I don't remember), I took this one out of The Mystery Collection because I just preferred the way the album sounded without it. The cover art for this one, to me, entirely justifies the axing of it from TMC's tracklist though. It fucks.
I've actually tried to make "remastered" versions of this song multiple times (once in 2024 and once this year), and both times, I realize they paled in comparison to the vibe of the original. Perhaps there was a world where I released the "Universe Crasher" compilation album, but the 2019 one was the best version hands-down, so you get it as a single.
The character seen in the cover art is an AU (alternate universe) version of myself. When I composed this seven years ago, I actually wrote it with a story in mind — the origin story of that AU version of me — with the intention of using it to score an animation that I still, to this day, haven't made. Drawing those vignettes from the story for the cover art might actually be the first time I've actually drawn anything from that origin story as far as I'm aware (though I did have to abridge the story in order to fit a cohesive version of the story in the cover art; it's only a slice of the story). As for what the full story is, I might still make the animation, so I'm not telling you. Spoilers, and such.
Speaking of "AU Chillins", this one is... more of a shitpost if anything. SiIvaGunner's 2026 April Fools event, where they did a bunch of rips for UNDERTALE AUs (for songs even UNRELATED to UNDERTALE). My favourites from that rip were PHASE 03 - Five Nights At Disbelief!Bonnie's and Criminal Confrontation - Home Alone 2: Last Breath in New York (Genesis). Following the wrap-up of that event, I found myself really wanting to make a "Last Breath" or a "Disbelief" theme using "Mysteriously Mysterious Mystery" as a base, and, using MuseScore 3, I think I pulled it off.
This song, if it was in The Mystery Collection would've capped off that album. I liked "Change Suite" more as an ending, so I decided I'd move this to a Halloween release (as a single). In the blogpost commentary for "Everything is Mysterious" from The Mystery Collection, I said that song was able to fully envelop me. This song is the same way. And like other songs off TMC, this features "Mysteriously Mysterious Mystery", "Cry, Why Don't You", another theme I wrote from around when I made "Universe Crasher" from a canned murder mystery musical I wanted to make and, as promised in the introductory paragraph, "Get Spooped." Thanks for listening, and I hope you have a happy Halloween (if it is the 31st when you're reading this).
